Ditch ESXi for Proxmox VE

What?  Ditch VMWare?   Are you high?

Not at the moment!   Here's the skinny; Broadcom purchased VMWare back in late 2023, and wasted no time switching up how licensing works.   The short version (add more here) is that you have to pay a LOT more for ESXi in the future.  Not a big deal if you've got mass budget, and use most of the enterprise features, right?   What if you don't use ANY of the advanced features, and are really just using it as a standalone hypervisor?

If that's what you're doing in your environment, you should probably look into alternatives.   Yes, Microsoft's Hyper-V is probably top on your list as a potential ESXi replacement, but that still takes a respectable budget.

How about Proxmox?
